on our michael & son weather camera, it's al good looking morning out there. good visibility still quite dark as yeah it's going to be another quite not an hour until sunrise. 62 officially at reagan national with calm winds and the relative humidity at 78%. nationally there's a big cold air mass coming down from canada. casper, wyoming eight now excuse me this afternoon will only be 40 degrees. you see that cooler mooing in. st. louis 52 and that cooldown comes to dallas tomorrow. to nashville as well. into new york state and much of pennsylvania. we're still going to be in the 70s tomorrow but by sunday, that's when this air mass takes over and we'll be in the mid 50s and it's not going to be sunny and delightful. some unfortunately some rain around here. here's our futurecast. no problems today. sunshine. front is well north and west of us. 5:45 it's going to be fantastic, a few showers in pennsylvania. ohio tonight. toward tomorrow morning. now midday tomorrow, we're still all right maybe a few more clouds than in the morning. but in the afternoon, couple of showers are going to pop

, unfortunately, it's not going to stay that way. let's take a look outside while we can. with the michael and son weather cam. it's 79 degrees right now. the dew point is comfortable in the 50s. that wind has picked up a little bit the out of the southwest. there's a cold front on the way and we generally get winds parallel to the front before it moves through. that's what we are seeing with that southwesterly breeze. the humidity still 40%. nice and comfortable. here's a look at the weather headline. as i said, great day today, great weather continues overnight tonight. that's it then. it looks like we're going to see showers arriving as early as around noon tomorrow. maybe even into the evening hours on your saturday as well. but, it's not a lot of rain on saturday. the real rain event arrives on sunday and this one is just going to be a soggy mess for us. lots of clouds, very cool temperatures as well on sunday. and it will get much better on monday, but still newt going to get back to this fantastic weather we had today. that's not a part of the columbus day weekend forecast. right now, still

. folks in the newsroom made fun of me, but i did, too. let's take a live look outside. it's our michael and son weather cam. high was 55. we are still 53 downtown. dew point in the low 40s. the winds are out of the north. winds will be north or northeasterly tonight and tomorrow. and that will keep the temperatures down and keep these low clouds in place. here's a welcome look at the radar. a little bit of yellows earlier, that is all left through hagerstown into pennsylvania. now we are left with some light green activity. we'll tell you where everything is right now. it's light as you go up 270, enough to wet the roads. it is getting close now to camden yards. and some light activity out in lohse burg and of course some more light activity either side of i-81. that's where it's been wet most of the afternoon and most of the night. temperatures, wow, 47 in lei tensville. 49 in bethesda. 48 in great falls and vienna and fairfax. 50 in arlington and 51 out in bowie. so, cool and unsettled. keep your umbrella handy tonight. chilly again tonight. you'll need a jacket tomorrow. so will the

in the upper 50s like lovettsville. 60 to 64, 65 should do it for most areas right now. outside michael & son weather camera, we're nice and quiet. we've got temperatures in the mid-60s. dew point all the way up to 60. get a little muggy out there, especially for this time of year. you'll notice the showers continuing to stream in from georgia and south carolina all the way up toward charleston, west virginia. even up into new york state and pennsylvania. this is what we'll be dealing with, especially for the morning hours. want to show you on the futurecast. it takes the first wave of moisture. by 8:00 the bulk of it pennsylvania, northern west virginia will get into some breaks here. not going to rain all day. then a scattering of some showers and potential thunder in a few spots for the afternoon. here's the forecast in detail. today 78. scattered showers, especially this morning. tonight's low only going to be near 70 in town. 60 in the burbs with patchy fog. tomorrow 84. maybe an isolated shower in the morning. thursday looks very nice, 82. friday also looks very nice, highs around 80. f

for this time of year. outside on our michael & son weather camera, cloudy skies and still really dark at this hour with light sprinkles at reagan national. 73 degrees reported on the hour with wind out of the south, southwest at 5 and humidity way up there. 88%. look at the cold stuff here. it's 30 in casper, wyoming. yellowstone in the 20s. snow flying in north dakota and montana this morning. that cooler air will be moving east and southeast over the next few days. it arrives here saturday night into sunday. in the short term we've got this moisture we're watching across georgia and south carolina. that will scoot east of us. then the cool air with the front, that could produce a shower saturday afternoon and a little wave on that front looks like it will produce quite a few showers on sunday and temperatures will struggle to get to 60 on sunday. 81 today. a much better finish than the start with some showers over the next couple of hours. tonight 50s and low 60s. tomorrow gorgeous. if you can get tomorrow off, do it. 82. by saturday 77. could be a shower or two in the afternoon and

outside with the michael and son weather cam. it's 81 degrees right now and low humidity. boy, can you ask for any better than that? the dew point 52. the wind is calm. 36%. oh, i wish i could tell you that it's going to stay with us throughout the weekend. but we do have a cold front on the way. that's the first change that we have in our weather headline. we had that great weather continuing tonight, but then that cold front that is on the way is going to give us a shower, maybe a thunderstorm in a couple areas on saturday and then sunday is going to be downright sloppy. we're going to see lots of clouds in place and pockets of heavy rain possible. much better on monday, but it's going to be less than ideal. as we head into that columbus day. right now, it is beautiful. it's 77 many martinsburg and hagerstown. same temperature in frederick. it is still 81 in fredericksburg with that low humidity and lots of sunshine. satellite and radar shows a change on the way. here comes the cold front that will bring the thunderstorm activity as we head into the afternoon tomorrow. but as you'll see

michael and son weather cam. we have clouds. we have a little bit of fog beginning to develop. that may be the biggest problem overnight. right now 71. a little bit of sprinkle activity downtown, nothing heavy. dew point 68. winds right now north, northeast at 6. and the pressure kind of low. humidity kind of high. here's the deal. here's the satellite picture, radar combined. now we'll zoom in a little bit. the area of low pressure hasn't moved much. in fact, it retrough graded to the northwest. the warm front is beginning to snake up to the north and to the west. it is kind of clipping southern maryland right now and also the delmarva. north of it in the 60s and 70s. this front will go through tomorrow and as it does so, we might see one more shower or thunderstorm tonight and then we'll pop in the warm sector big time tomorrow. close in view of lightning. see some showers. this is essentially just on the other side of that front, which is why we are seeing that area where the showers and thunderstorms are being created. prince william, back to mechanicsville, nothing crazy heavy, but

michael and son weather cam. it is gorgeous. finally some drier air has moved in. we're really going to feel it tonight. temperatures the p -- temperatures want. eventually in the 50s. the winds finally shifted north to northwest at 12. that will also bring in the much more comfortable air as we go through the nighttime hours. even though technically a cold front has gone on through. remember that it is just a wind shift and we have the wind shift, but it will not bed colder tomorrow, still spectacular. speaking of cold though. we're going to go ahead and zoom in to northern minnesota where they have had some winter storm watches and warnings there. it is five inches of snow. now, this is the cold front that we will be watching over the weekend. and that's what's going to really turn the tables for you on sunday. i mean we're going to lose 20 degrees for you between saturday and sunday. and in the meantime, all the showers, all the clouds, they are pushing away, now we're getting the drier air in here. it will be real nice. comfortable. 76 at great falls. they are comfortable and wel

in october. nice, nice stuff. all right, we'll take a look outside. this is our michael and son weather cam. a lot of clouds. 53. dew point is 40 and the winds are north, northeast at 8. that's one of the keys. the winds will continue to be north, northeast at 8. we'll have that air for a while. at least through tomorrow morning. satellite picture and the radar combined will zoom in. a lot of activity in terms of the heaviest rain fall is west of town along the i-81 corridor. and there are pockets. see a little magenta there and in parts of west virginia. a little bit of wet snow. certainly a chilly air mass across the eastern sea board. we have light activity south of town. we'll show you doppler radar and we can see activity down toward southern maryland. it moved across the bay. but by and large, the heaviest and most consistent rain fall will be hagerstown to winchester. if you are walking the dog, you need a coat. back to cumberland, there's some rain. martinsburg, west virginia, up into hagerstown, that's where the heaviest rain fall can be found. temperatures right now, 49 in laithen

. same in leesburg and also 46 for fort belvoir. outside on our michael & son weather camera, we see less moisture sitting on the cover of the camera. that's another sign that the rains have shut down and cloudy skies being reported at reagan national. 49 with a north wind at 8. feels more like 45 degrees out there. it is a raw morning. we've got this system on the east coast pulling away and this one in the plains heading toward us. you can see the twist right here in northern minnesota dragging a cold front across minnesota, iowa and wisconsin. that cold front gets here tomorrow afternoon. with it looks like most of the moisture is going to stay north of us but we do have a slight chance of a shower. in fact 8:00 still a slight chance of a shower east. we'll see the clouds lingering through midday some and then breaking up this afternoon. tonight we're looking at some fog possibly returning toward tomorrow morning. here comes the front tomorrow afternoon. slight chance of a shower northern sections with the front. it will just cool us down ath bit thursday and friday. today 60 degrees.
